Cascades Fellowship Programs
T4
The T4's are Cascades Fellowship's youth group. Why the funny name? T4 is an acronym of an acronym. It stands for the The Flock on the Right (See Matt 25:31-46). TFOR or T4. Our mission is to live up to our name – showing that we love Jesus by being the kind of disciples that are willing to serve.
All teenage youth are welcome (grades 6-12) to join in the activities, games and devotionals. T4's meet on Monday evenings 7PM at the church. We also meet on other nights for special activities like bowling, movie might, laser tag, roller skating, etc.
Children in Worship
All humankind is made in the image of God and that means that they are made to worship, even children. The problem is we make worship such a grownup thing. At Cascades Fellowship, we understand that children see and experience worship a little differently. That's why we have Children in Worship.
Children in Worship is a worship service designed with kids in mind. Using the same elements of worship that are used in Sunday service, Children in Worship helps train our children to participate in worship in ways meaningful to them. It helps the kids grasp the ideas of reverence, sacred space and the power of the sacraments even as it trains them to be attentive to God's Word. Children in Worship helps pave the way for our kids to have meaningful worship experiences as they grow in faith and join in the life of the church.
Special Needs Children
If your family faces the challenges that come with a member who has special needs, you are welcome in our church. Not only are we undisturbed by those who make a little extra noise while worshipping the Lord, we also have an entire service in our basement specifically designed to meet special needs. Additionally, we have caring families who are familiar with the joys and challenges of raising children with special needs to provide support and encouragement as needed. We have a Friendship Class during our Sunday School hour for children and young adults with mental and emotional disabilities, but also work hard integrating those with special needs into our other Sunday School classes for families that desire a more typical setting.
Parenting Challenging Children
We know that raising children in today's world is a tough job - and when that job also includes the challenges that come with special needs children - sometimes it can seem like you're out there on your own. You're not. At Cascades Fellowship we have a group that meets on the second Sunday of every month after the morning services called Parenting Challenging Children (PCC). PCC is a support network of families just like yours who know your struggles and are ready to share the wisdom gained through their own experiences. PCC also brings in special speakers, authorities in helping families find the strategies that are going to assist you in helping your special child find his or her potential. The meetings begin with a light lunch and then moves into a breakout session for the adults and planned activities for the kids.
Youth Choir
If you are in grades 5-12 and you like to sing, join us Thursday evenings from 7:00–8:00PM during the school year. We learn contemporary favorites and teach them to the congregation. We also learn simple harmonies, but mostly we just have fun praising the Lord together.
Love in the Name of Christ
Sometimes people need a little help. Part of our commitment at Cascades Fellowship is to be a blessing to our community. That's why we have partnered with a number of churches in the Greater Jackson area in supporting an organization called Love in the Name of Christ (Love INC). Love INC is a clearinghouse ministry to help churches more effectively administer their resources in caring for those in need in the community. If you would like more information about Love INC or are in need of the services they provide please call (517) 782-9766 or follow this link
Men Being Men
Sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. And the first Saturday of the month the men of Cascades Fellowship have gotta go to breakfast! We gather at 8:00AM at a local eatery, swap stories and do a lot of laughing. And on occasion we do projects or go down to Cabela's© It is a time for men to be men.
Women's Fellowship
Proverbs says that "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." There is nothing like gathering with others to help gain perspective and wisdom in life. That's why the women of the church meet every Saturday morning at the Blue Moon Cafe© in Michigan Center for breakfast and sharing life's wonders and burdens together. Gathering time is 9:45 AM - if you need directions just follow this link
